Dr Cristina Palomares - Chief Operating Officer

Dr Cristina Palomares is the Chief Operating Officer responsible for overall operational performance of the Stockholm Network.

She completed her MPhil in International Relations at the University of Cambridge in 1996 and her PhD in International History (specialised in Spanish political history) at the London School of Economics in 2001.

After completing her PhD, she moved to Madrid where she worked for the Fundacion para el Analisis y los Estudios Sociales (FAES), a member think tank of the Stockholm Network. At FAES she worked at the International Department. First, as Responsible for the relations and activities of the foundation in Central American and the Caribbean and later in Europe. In her latter capacity she worked closely with think tanks who are members of the network.

Dr Palomares is the author of several publications. Sobrevivir despues de Franco (Alianza Editorial, 2006), the Spanish translation of a book first published in the UK, attracted a lot media attention in Spain and was chosen fourth out of the best ten non-fiction books of the year 2006 by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo. She currently collaborates with the Spanish newspaper ABC.
