In the article, Helen and Meir analyse what is missing from the intellectual property protection secured to the IT sector at the EU level, based on updated findings of the Stockholm Network`s IP-IT Index, and offer suggestions for improving the policy environment. Keeping pirates at bay

Helen Disney, Chief Executive of the Stockholm Network, and Dr Meir Pugatch, Director of Research of the Stockholm Network, contributed an article, on the current Pirate Bay trial in Sweden, to European Voice, a weekly European newspaper that focuses on EU affairs. In the article, it is argued that whilst it may be hard to balance the rights of users and creators in relation to online content, there should be no doubt that there is no place for pirates to be allowed to determine the rules. |
